A Tennessee woman faces multiple criminal charges after police said she ran from officers, climbed onto the Lewis and Clark Bridge railing and threw a container at them on September 18.

Longview police were called to the bridge after receiving reports of a woman standing on the railings. Officers identified her as 36-year-old Crystal L. Griffin of Chattanooga.

According to police, Griffin ran when officers arrived and climbed onto the bridge structure.

Investigators said Griffin threatened officers as they tried to calm the situation, tried to hit them and threw an open container that struck officers.

Griffin was arrested and booked on suspicion of third-degree assault, felony harassment, disorderly conduct and possession of a controlled substance after police reported finding fentanyl in her possession.
