Police Shocked To Find 8-Year-Old Riding Personal Watercraft Off Florida Coast
Sarasota Police Marine Patrol officers stopped an 8-year-old boy operating a personal watercraft off the coast of Lido Key during a busy weekend with rough currents.
Florida law requires a person to be at least 14 years old to operate a personal watercraft. Allowing someone younger than 14 to operate one is illegal and is considered a second-degree misdemeanor.
As a result of the violation, the boy’s father will have to appear in court.
