Mother Duck Reunited With Ducklings After Firefighters Rescue Them From Hole

Video filmed by CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department shows firefighters responding to a rescue after several ducklings became trapped in a hole in the pavement.

Firefighters in full protective gear gathered around a narrow opening in the ground and carefully reached inside to lift out small yellow ducklings one by one. The team worked slowly and methodically, using their hands and tools to access the confined space.

A distressed mother duck remained nearby, pacing and calling out repeatedly as the rescue took place. She stayed close to the firefighters while they worked to recover her young.

Crews used one duckling to help guide the mother duck back to the scene. Once she returned, she began calling out again, and the remaining ducklings moved close enough for firefighters to safely retrieve them.

The ducklings were placed on the ground after being removed from the hole. They quickly gathered together and reunited with their mother, forming a small family group.

Emergency vehicles and urban surroundings were visible in the background as the rescue unfolded on a sunny day in Eastvale, Riverside County.

The incident highlights the variety of calls handled by firefighters, including wildlife rescues, as crews ensured all ducklings were safely recovered and returned to their mother.
