Floodwater Swamps Hundreds of Cars and Homes in Barefoot Bay as Residents Wade to Safety
Barefoot Bay, United States – Floodwater swamped cars and homes in Barefoot Bay, Florida, as residents waded through flooded streets.
X user Mike's Weather Page filmed the scene on Monday, November 2, walking through the water past cars sunk up to their doors while a group of people pushed a raft along the street behind him.
"I've never seen anything like this. I'm telling you, thousands of cars are stranded. Every street we've been on since Palm Bay south here has been like this," the filmer said in the video.
"Locals have told me they've never seen nothing like it. We got a little water rescue going on over here."
More than 100 people were rescued from floodwaters across Brevard County that day, according to local officials.
"Water rescue just now in Barefoot Bay, Florida. Never seen anything like this. 100s of cars flooded. Water in homes. Roads underwater," the filmer wrote.
