Fawn Trapped In Deck Railing Gets Rescued And Reunited With Its Mother
Bodycam video filmed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office shows Animal Control Officers Duplan and Moore rescuing a spotted fawn trapped beneath a metal deck railing beside a stone house.
The officers and a resident lift the animal, using a pink plastic snow shovel for support, while working out how to turn it so its ribcage and hips can clear the bars.
The fawn is carefully guided through the railing before dropping onto the wooden deck. It then runs past patio furniture toward the yard.
Nearby in the brush, the fawn reaches a doe and begins nursing. The pair then move away through the trees.
The rescue took place in Morrison on August 6, 2026. After the officers freed the fawn, it ran to its mother and was seen safely nursing.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office posted the bodycam on September 1. The office said the fawn was safely reunited with its mother.
