Driver Blows Past Crossing Guard As Children Wait At Wisconsin School Crosswalk
A red sedan drives through a school crosswalk as a crossing guard holds up a stop sign, narrowly missing two children waiting nearby on bicycles.
Police dashcam footage from September 10, 2026, shows the crossing guard stepping into the crosswalk and stopping traffic as the two children wait at the corner. The sedan continues through the crossing instead of stopping.
No one was hit in the incident.
Janesville police said the footage was part of stepped-up enforcement at school crossings, where officers were still seeing drivers using phones, speeding and failing to stop for crossing guards.
The school-zone speed limit is 15 mph when children are present. Police did not say whether the driver of the red sedan was cited.
