Dazzling Sunlight Dances Across Lake Lanier as Fall Arrives

Golden evening sunlight danced across the surface of north Georgia’s Lake Lanier on October 19, framed by trees just beginning to turn for autumn.

X user Joey Nicholson filmed the scene from the shore, where shimmering points of light flickered across the rippling water behind a curtain of yellow and green leaves. “The sunlight is dancing on the water this evening. Glory,” Nicholson wrote alongside the clip, adding in a later post: “Nice day in N GA.”

Nicholson regularly shares scenes and weather updates from Lake Lanier, the vast reservoir northeast of Atlanta, from winter sunsets to rainfall totals on the lake. The calm, warm evening offered a moment of stillness as fall foliage began to color the woods around the lake.
