Pope Leo XIV Reveals His Pick In Real Madrid Vs Barcelona Rivalry

Pope Leo XIV offered a warm and humorous response when asked about the classic Real Madrid versus Barcelona rivalry during a flight to Spain.

The moment was captured by Elise Ann Allen, who recorded the Pope interacting with passengers inside a commercial aircraft cabin.

The Pope, dressed in his white papal cassock and zucchetto, was seen standing in the aisle of the plane, smiling as he greeted passengers and aides. A passenger asked him about the rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

In response, Pope Leo XIV smiled and made a playful remark. He stated that as Pope he supports all teams, but personally, as “Prevost,” he favors Real Madrid.

The exchange took place in a relaxed atmosphere, with passengers and a cameraman visible in the background as the Pope engaged casually with those onboard.

The brief moment highlighted his approachable manner and ability to connect on everyday topics. It occurred during a flight linked to his early travels as pope, including engagements in Spain.

The clip quickly gained attention, resonating with football fans and Catholics. It stood out for the Pope’s clear distinction between his universal role and his personal preference.

No theological or political message was offered, only a light-hearted comment on one of Spain’s most well-known sporting rivalries.
