Paris Crowds Pack Montmartre To Cheer Tour de France Riders

Dense crowds packed the narrow streets on Sunday, July 26, 2026, during the final stage of the Tour de France, cheering riders as they tackled the steep Montmartre climb.

Video filmed by Le guide des cols shows spectators filling the street between multi-story buildings. Many wear white polka-dot hats and shirts, matching the classic Tour de France mountain jersey colors.

People watched from balconies and windows, while others climbed onto ledges and poles. Spectators waved flags and held up phones as the peloton passed through the climb.

The crowds gathered to cheer the riders as the race reached its final stage after three weeks of efforts and a record average. Mathieu van der Poel won the final stage on the Champs-Élysées.
