Norway’s Viking Army Floods Boston Stadium Plaza Ahead Of World Cup Matches

Video filmed by X user Kim Alexander Dahl shows a massive crowd of soccer supporters filling the plaza outside a large modern stadium featuring sweeping stone arches and illuminated signage reading “BOSTON BELIEVES IN U.S. SOCCER.”

Many fans wore red jerseys, caps, and scarves while waving Norwegian flags or draping them over their shoulders. Several supporters donned Viking-style horned helmets, adding to the warrior-themed atmosphere embraced by the crowd.

Supporters cheered, raised their hands, and held smartphones aloft as the packed gathering moved toward the stadium entrance marked with numbered gates.

The scene unfolded in bright daylight, with people in casual summer clothing mixing with dedicated fans displaying team colors and national symbols. Filmed from within the crowd, the footage captures rows of flag-draped supporters facing the stadium concourse.

The gathering of Norwegian fans, many embracing the national team’s “Vikings” identity, took place ahead of or during FIFA World Cup 2026 matches in the Boston and Foxborough area.

Norway returned to the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 28 years, with the national team leaning into its historic Viking heritage through dramatic imagery and fan celebrations across host cities in the United States.

The lively scenes highlight the passion and cultural pride surrounding Norway’s tournament campaign in the expanded World Cup.
