Fireworks Erupt Beneath Army Black Hawks in Near Miss Over Seahawks Stadium
Seattle, United States – Fireworks erupted beneath a formation of US Army Black Hawk helicopters as they flew over Lumen Field before the Seattle Seahawks' Monday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears.
X user Brandon Alexi filmed the pregame flyover from the stands on Monday, November 2, as four helicopters passed over the stadium's open roof during the national anthem and red and gold fireworks shot into the sky from the top of the stadium.
The four UH-60M Black Hawks, from the Army's 2-158th Assault Helicopter Battalion, flew in formation over the crowd. Three cleared the stadium before the pyrotechnics began, but the fourth was still overhead as the fireworks went off, and fans gasped as the blasts burst close to it.
The helicopter carried on flying with the rest of the formation, and there were no reports of damage or injuries.
"This is mine and I slowed it. I don't think any of them actually hit it," the filmer wrote.
The Bears went on to win the game 34-17.
