Child Thrown From Car In Violent Crash Seconds After Traffic Stop In Gwinnett County

A police dashcam video has captured the moment a crash occurred just seconds after a traffic stop, resulting in a child being thrown from a vehicle.

Authorities released footage from a Gwinnett County patrol car showing the incident that took place on May 23. Officials described the outcome as “nothing short of a miracle.”

Police said the crash unfolded immediately after a traffic stop and could have ended far more severely.

The video is being used by officials to emphasize the importance of seat belt use and proper child restraint systems in all travel situations.

Authorities noted that the incident highlights how danger on the road can come even when drivers are complying with traffic rules.

In the dashcam footage, a young child is seen being ejected from the vehicle during the collision.

Despite the force of the crash, officers said the child suffered only minor scratches and was able to walk away from the scene.

Officials stressed that properly securing all passengers, especially children, is critical before every trip.

The department has been promoting road safety through its Operation Summer Brake campaign, which focuses on preventing serious injuries and fatal crashes.

Drivers are being urged to take extra time before driving to ensure seat belts and child safety seats are correctly fastened.
